Cavalier Carpets products have been specified for use in the eagerly awaited ‘hub by Premier Inn’ concept hotels. At only 11.4sq metres each room is only half as big as an average one at a Premier Inn. Apart from a bed, the room has a desk, an en-suite bathroom with power shower, free wi-fi and 40-inch TV.
The compact hotels will be situated in city centres and will cost between £60 and £100 a night. The first 167-room hub by Premier Inn will open in St Martin’s Lane, London, next summer. Whitbread plans to have 40 hub hotels, with a total of 6,000 rooms, opened or in the pipeline. The move is part of Whitbread’s plan to expand from around 53,000 hotel rooms to 75,000 by 2018.
The carpet has been designed and developed by Cavalier’s in-house design department, which is also responsible for the on-going evolution of flooring products for the rest of Whitbread's Premier Inn estate.
The most sophisticated manufacturing technology will be used to create a nylon quality, in a modern design that generates maximum impact in the smallest of spaces.
